[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I do a lot of posting, searching, writing and surfing on topics related to personal training, working out, exercise and diet – so it should come as no surprise that I get A TON of ads when I’m online that pertain to these topics. They generally link to companies trying to tempt me into purchasing some subscription or product. Occasionally I try the service or product out and sometimes I even fall for what is obviously ‘Click Bait”.
A few weeks ago I spied an ad that stated “The one exercise Trainers with you wouldn’t do”. My first thought was… Oh I have to read this and tell Carlee (My Personal Trainer at Lloyd Athletic Club)… quickly followed by… this is probably click bate. BUT, alas… I clicked and read the article. The page was chuck full of ads, boxes to click out of, animated nonsense, etc. but it got me thinking that there are probably THOUSANDS of exercises your Personal Trainer doesn’t want you doing. Picking out just one is a waste of time (and brain cells).
The fact is – unless you’ve studied basic anatomy, exercise physiology, fitness assessment techniques and have a solid understanding of resistance, cardio-respiratory and flexibility exercises pretty much ANY EXERCISE you do in the gym could be a really bad idea. If you are not being guided by someone who knows what they are doing, then you will inevitably end up either not benefiting from your efforts or getting injured.
I firmly believe that no matter how long you’ve enjoyed your gym membership or how many years you’ve lifted weights… you can always do with proper guidance on FORM. Working with a Personal Trainer not only keeps you accountable in the gym – it keeps you safer and ensures that your time in the gym is well spent & productive.

(Never one of my favorites nor one my Lloyd Athletic Club trainers have ever asked me do.)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
